Want
to restore or alter your own photos?
We can offer you an introduction
to image restoration.
The tutorial
is based on Adobe PhotoShopCS2 but
the principles of renovation and
manipulation remain the same regardless
of which program is used provided
your program is capable of producing
layers.
The examples
include:
- Cloning
(Rubber Stamp Tool) -
with the Clone Stamp Tool you
can remove cracks and dust spots
and even people from a picture.
- Removing
a pattern - scanning
images sometimes results in a
pattern of dots appearing all
over the picture. This happens
with printed material and photos
with certain finishes.
- Colour
Correction - colour correction
is a potential minefield! Faded
colour pictures from even the
recent past are common and, since
colour is so subjective, they
can be a very difficult challenge
to meet.
- An Eye
for an Eye - repairs
to eyes can be very difficult.
Obviously, in a close up portrait,
a complete repair has to be made
but in a group shot it is often
possible to cheat a little.
- Fading
Away - selective correction
of a faded picture.
- Two
into One - combining
two pictures into one.
- Taking
out the Background -
placing the subject on a new background.
- Heads
you Win - replace a baby’s
face as he was looking the wrong
way in the original family photo.
- Montage
- create a montage of pictures
PLUS the
Imagine IT SEAL OF APPROVAL CHALLENGE!
a chance to put your new
learned skills into practice!
Lessons are in no
particular order of difficulty but
each will provide practice in various
skills. They include screenshots
from PhotoShopCS2 to assist you.
